Ashwin Stable was created by Jean McFarland Altshuler and her husband, Don. Jean is a well-known sculpturess and artist of equestrian images. Her passion for horses runs deep and dressage has been her chosen sport. This is the facility she and Don built together to enjoy their horses.
Attention has been paid to every detail for the comfort and safety of horse and rider. All three barns are finished with tongue-and-groove wood interiors, and the stalls are made using top-of-the-line Barnmaster components. All stalls have an automatic waterer, feed rack, stall mat, and outside run.
The main barn has 4 stalls, a wash stall, grooming stall, office, 2 bathrooms, tack room, laundry and a 720 sq. ft. employee apartment upstairs. It is connected by a breezeway to the indoor arena.
The middle barn has 4 stalls and the east barn has 8 stalls. There is an equipment shed and separate hay barn. There are several turnouts, as well as a round pen.
The indoor arena is very bright, with good ventilation, one mirrored wall, and a viewing stand. The footing is a mixture of sand and shredded rubber. It is one of the most inviting spaces to work in you can imagine. There is a regulation-size dressage arena with sand and rubber footing located on the adjoining open space/equestrian easement. There is a perimeter trail and cross-country schooling fences would be allowed, if desired.
There are several turnouts and a round pen for horse exercise.
The main house and attached guesthouse total 2200 sq. ft. and are constructed of frame and stucco.
